Risk analysis of gold processing in artisanal and small-scale gold mining in Bolaang Mongondow Regency, North Sulawesi, Indonesia

Gold processing at artisanal and small-scale gold mining (ASGM) in Indonesia is inherently risky due to the high severity likelihood of accidents causing serious injury. The objectives this study were identify hazards, assess risks, determine risk control measures ASGM location Imandi Village, East Dumoga District, Bolaang Mongondow Regency, North Sulawesi Province. method used was Hazard Identification Risk Assessment Control (HIRARC). determination work stages identification hazards carried out through observation 14 units interviews with informants consisting 6 workers 8 business owners. assessment by observing interviewing experts as selected from health environmental scientists, various offices Government non-government institutions. results showed that stage consists 13 sources can pose 16 risks. obtained 19% low risk, 31% moderate 25% very caused exposure mercury ore burning process a value 25. identified PPE (personal protective equipment) 43%, administrative controls 14%, engineering substitution 21%, elimination 7%. Realistic be applied are combination PPE.
